BOTHERED

Hi there…Happy Saturday.

I find myself bothered this week by a trend I have been seeing in both politics and YouTube videos. Yes, it isn’t new, and maybe it has something to do with the particular videos I have been watching (my bad). It bothers me nonetheless (who even uses “nonetheless” anymore).

I have seen a constant barrage of hate, anger, judgement, and disparagement of others…maybe because I watched the Republican National Convention this week, hmmm? I partly blame the “media” for what they purposely choose to present to the public, but why do they choose only negative issues to present? You would think that there were no positive stories anywhere in the world.

Of course, since money is the ONLY driving factor in business, then they choose whatever sells to the public, which happens to be lots of violence. The public seems to really like fighting because of its sensationalism. This is even more worrying. Why does the public want to concentrate on death, anger, and struggle? Maybe because people are angry, frustrated, and desperate for anything to deflect their attention from their own problems? This is enough to bother anyone who gives a moment’s thought to what is going on.

I am also finding that many of the YouTube videos that gain the most views include those which make fun of other YouTube video creators, demean them, and point out the (perceived) stupidity in them. The inspirational ones are not nearly so popular because they are not as sensationalistic. OK, I said this was not a new phenomenon. It has been happening for a long time. Maybe that is ONE reason why our society remains filled with violence…don’t you think, maybe?

Whatever we all focus our attention on, feeds into the collective subconscious, and affects the mood of those around us, the country, and the world. This constant focus on negativity makes it truly difficult on those who wish to encourage peace, love, and the celebration of our beautiful diversity, to make the world a better place. As we have just entered the Aquarian age, a time when all humanity will eventually come together in peace and harmony, we see increased resistance to the change. I have a feeling it will get a lot worse before it gets better. Change never comes easy, even when it is change for the benefit of everyone.

Well…here’s to hoping for more positive vibes! But I remain bothered…for now…

Why Are We Always Saying Such Dumb Things?

Like “dumb shit”. Yes, I have yet to hear shit say anything.  It IS pretty dumb.   Thanks for pointing out the obvious. The one I happen to be thinking about at the moment is “stupid-ass” or “stupid-ass’d”. I don’t know how to take that one. If someone says to me I am a stupid-ass, they are falsely assuming that my brains “should” be located in my posterior, rather than my head, and then complaining that they are not. And trying to call me a farm animal too. Personally, I am pleased that my brains are in my head and not my ass. So is that really a complement? More likely someone was not listening in anatomy class. Get your head out of your ass, people (as if that were really possible in the first place). So much of our conversation really says nothing, so I guess most of what we say is really “dumb” after all.

Of course, I have said nothing at all about “why” we say such things so often.  I guess it is just an “ape beating on its chest” kind of thing, to get attention, or to hear ourselves speak.  That is probably why I am writing this blog…

Cats at the shelter are stressed, don’t eat right, and may have come from abusive homes.  But just get them into a safe, calm, loving environment, and they perk up, and plump up just fine.  See what a little love (and good food) can do?!

A Most Enlightening Book

One of the most influential, inspiring, and enlightening books I have ever read is “The Cloud Upon the Sanctuary”, written by Karl Von Eckhartshausen (1752-1803).  He was a Christian and a mystic, and as such was totally and completely dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ, which is self-evident in his writings. I present this here in hopes that as many people will read it as possible.  Reading it filled my heart with love, and filled my eyes with tears at the beauty presented in its pages.  The information given therein is invaluable to anyone desiring to consciously become One with Christ, and God the Father.  I have never found, in my own opinion and experience, any person more dedicated to Christ, nor any book more inspirational, save the Bible itself.

A second reason for writing this post, and recommending this book without hesitation, is to bring truth to the great lies which have been perpetuated regarding the “occult” Wisdom.  Karl Von Eckhartshausen was thoroughly trained in the arcane arts, the esoteric, the oral tradition, otherwise known as the “occult”.  If any of you have any doubts as to the character of such training and teachings, which have many times been called “evil” by political and fundamentalist church authorities, I am certain that this book will convince you otherwise.  If such a pure and wise Christian as Karl Von Eckhartshausen was completely familiar with occult teachings, then there cannot possibly be any evil in it!  Many of the mystical Catholic Saints were also totally familiar with the esoteric interpretation of the scriptures, and certainly none of you would call any of them “evil” (I hope).  At times in history, especially during the Renaissance, occult works were required reading among the Christian royalty, the wealthy, the accomplished, and the intellectuals.  It has fallen in and out of favor at the whims of society’s political leadership out of fear that a learned population would understand true freedom in Christ, and become a problem for them to manage according to their greedy and power-lusting purposes.

I hope some of you will at least skim portions of this book, which is freely available (for free) from several sites, and can also be cheaply purchased from Amazon.com.  I bet that if you do, most of you, like me, will end up reading the entire book, which is a set of letters written to the church, and is a very short, but truly enlightening, work.

Peace and Blessings to all of you!

DAY THREE OF THE 3 DAYS, 3 QUOTES CHALLENGE

This is the last quote in the challenge, so I decided to include a quote from a well-loved source………..ME!  Now, you may think that is cheating, but I don’t see any rules against it.  In fact, I may just throw in a bonus quote from me as well.  If you don’t like it, well, it’s my blog and I’ll write whatever the F*** I want!  So there!

Here it is:

“Never leave Fate in Destiny’s hands.” – Mark Kagy

It’s not very hard to figure out.  Those who live life without goals or direction are at the whims of their circumstances, always reacting to external forces.  They never assert their will to make something specific of their life, or to make an impact on the people and planet around them.  This may actually turn out fine for many folks, but when they die, what is there to remember about them?  What did they do with their life?  For others, because they used no initiative to help themselves, they end up blown here and there by the winds of circumstance, always in a crisis, never able to get ahead, always reacting to change rather than causing their own change to happen.

Revelation 3:15-16, NIV:

15‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot.16‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”

We are all meant to live with passion, whatever we choose to do, be it good, or bad.  The only way to impact your life, and the world around you is to live with passion, and exert your will.  Act, rather than react.

I don’t mean for everyone to win the Nobel prize, or become an astronaut, or be a celebrity.  I just mean to take steps to control and direct your own life towards goals you set for yourself – whatever you want your life to be, based on your deepest desires.  Don’t repress those desires of your heart, act on them!  I certainly have not become famous, or won any great awards.  But I have purpose and direction.  This blog was started as a tool to accomplish a very personal goal – learning to get my ideas into a more organized form, and learning how to better express those ideas.  In practicing this, I am also becoming more sensitive to that small voice of intuition which provides Wisdom to all those who have ears to hear.  I am developing my inner senses to be more in tune with a higher spiritual purpose.  In order to know what that is, I need to listen carefully to my intuition, and my greatest desires.  This is not an easy process.  Try figuring out just what it is that you truly want or desire.  No, it is not easy, but in the end, I believe it will be worth it to all who take control of their own “vessel” and steer it in a specific direction, towards a specific destination.

So, I will include another quote of mine, which might just twist your mind a tiny bit.  Some will understand right away, and others may never get it.

“It is both at the same time – for all time, and in One place – everywhere.” – Mark Kagy

Have a great day!

DAY TWO OF THE 3 DAYS, 3 QUOTES CHALLENGE

This will be a shorter post….I promise (I think, maybe, or not)!

}8*)-|–<

The quote for today:

“Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

The “Holographic Universe” theory is a (not so) recent scientific and mathematical theory which may actually apply literally to our Universe.  Basically, that every piece of the whole carries within it, an image or shadow of the whole itself.  Now obviously a leaf from a maple tree cannot possibly contain the entire universe, BUT it can contain a fuzzy or hazy view of the whole.  The idea is that if you take bigger and bigger pieces, the pattern of the whole contained within a bigger piece (like a solar system) becomes a clearer and more accurate picture of the whole.  Finally, if you take the entire Universe as the piece you are considering, then it certainly contains a perfect picture of the whole Universe!  Each small part of the Universe carries within it a portion of the perfection of God.  See how I just snuck (sneaked?) God into the discussion?

My view of God, as I have written in other posts, is a pseudo-pantheistic view.  In other words, I believe that the Universe IS a part of, and made from the very substance of, God.  God’s actual body, or the perfect “reflection” of God, made FROM God’s own substance.  But in addition, I also believe that part of God exists outside of the Universe as well.  Basically (ya, I like this word and use it a lot), God is everything that exists, AND everything else that does not.  The Unity of Everything and No-thing (Nothing).  Reminds me of the “Something, Everything” album by Todd Rundgren.

So yes, I definitely resonate with Ralph’s idea that “Every particular in nature…is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole”.  Just substitute “God” for “the whole”, and you have a fair statement of what I personally believe.

If you want to know God better, one avenue to take is to look inside yourself.  Indeed, we are a direct reflection of God (made in the image of God, literally, Genesis 1:27).  We carry God within ourselves, and we are made of God’s substance. God lives within us, and we exist within God.

  1. That which is below is like that which is above & that which is above is like that which is below to do the miracles of one only thing
  2. And as all things have been & arose from one by the mediation of one: so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.

The Emerald Tablet of Hermes, Newton’s translation, Wikipedia.

Another method of approaching the understanding of God, is to meditate upon small objects, seeking to find what EACH reveals about God.  As you meditate on more and more objects, a picture of God is built up in your mind, and progressively becomes clearer and more complete.  Of course, this is a lifetime (or multiple lifetime’s) occupation, but no one said it was easy (insert huge smiley face).

That’s all folks, for day two of the challenge.
